The
premises comprises accommodation on 2 floors with an eating area on the
first floor. The Centre was purpose built in 1988 and is situated off a
minor road from Holyhead and Porthdafarch Beach. We
welcome people with disabilities and every effort will be made to
accommodate the requirements of people with disabilities, the building was
designed for outdoor pursuits accommodation. Facilities
& access
Car
parking is off road around the building. There
is one wheelchair access through
the rear of the building (Lecture Room 2). Bar
area: ramp access to door, but small step over doorway. Dining
room and lounge, all on first floor level ground with no steps but with
closing firedoors. Main
Stairs Wooden open flight to front entrance and into lounge area. One
flight stairs to upper floor dormitories – all with shared shower and
toilet facilities. All
washrooms are large. Further
flight of stairs to remaining 3 bedrooms, shower and toilet. Rooms
are smaller at this end of the building.
Access
by steps is limited and assistance may be needed. Notices
can be printed in large print for visually impaired visitors. The
premises are well lit throughout with fire alarms, smoke detectors and
emergency 'fail safe' lighting in corridors. The
bar area can be noisy at times. Mobile
phone reception is poor in building. Vodaphone and Orange are best
providers. Nearest
town - Holyhead (2 miles). Bus, train and ferry stations here.
