FIELD TRIPS
With accommodation available in our centre for up to 70 and more available in our glamping and camping sites, on-site catering and use of the large lounge and dining areas as a classroom space, Anglesey Outdoors is the ideal base from which to run Field Trips and Non-Exam Assessments.
Being just a few minutes walk to the unspoilt coastline makes the centre an ideal location for Geology, Geography, Biology, STEM and Tourism and linking up with our onsite activities team for GCSE PE. With wifi, flipcharts, blackboards and whiteboards at your disposal.

Many topics in the curriculum are represented on Anglesey: Physical Geography – coastal processes and management, landforms, geomorphology, settlements, ecosystems Sustainability – Anglesey is an Energy Isle with nuclear, wind, tidal and biomass energy represented as well as the hydroelectric station at Llanberis. Human Geography – impact of tourist honey pots, regeneration issues, slate mining in Snowdonia.
Geology
Anglesey has arguably the greatest geo-diversity for its size in Europe. With rock formations from most major geological era, Anglesey is now recognised as one of Europe’s Geoparks. It’s a great location for structural mapping field trips with access to Anglesey’s historic sites including, folding in Precambrian rocks at South Stack, Rhoscolyn Anticline , Parys Copper Mountain , and Pillow Lavas at Newborough.
Biology
A wide variety of habitats are found on Anglesey: Rocky Seashore, Estuarine Ecosystems, Sand dunes and Salt marsh at Aberffraw, pond studies. Cemlyn Lagoon , Parys Mountain and Cors Goch are just 3 of the 60 sites of special scientific interest on Anglesey. Ellins Tower at South Stack is an RSPB reserve with classic cliff top flora and fauna.
Tourism & Leisure
With such a wide variety of adventurous activities on our doorstop makes Anglesey a popular destination for residential field trips. As well as experiencing these activities students investigate: The impact of tourism on the environment, conservation issues, risk management and marketing.
Photography & Art
The AONB that surrounds most of Anglesey offers many opportunities for photographers and artists. South Stack – sea cliffs , amazing sunsets, wave formations, wild flora and fauna Parys Mountain – old copper mine with sci fi landscape Llanddwyn Island .
Archaeology
Anglesey has at least 14 Neolithic burial chambers and several standing stones . Most popular locations are: Ancient Settlements at Din Lligwy , Ty Mawr Hut Circles , Standing Stones at Penrhos Feilw , Llanfechell Trio, Burial Chambers at Barclodiad y Gawres , Bryn Celli Ddu, Plas Newydd, Trefignath.

Booking Information
Booking Accommodation
If there is a particular time you wish to visit we strongly recommend that you book in advance to avoid disappointment. During peak times we have a 2 night minimum stay in our indoor accommodation and glamping units with bedding. We do get cancellations though, so you can always try for a last minute booking.
- All prices include VAT at 20%.
- Over Bank Holidays a minimum 3 night stay applies.
- Low Season: 1st October to 31st March exc Bank Holidays. High Season: 1st April to 30th September inc Bank Holidays.
- Check in from 3:00pm (Just let us know if you need to be much earlier or later).
- Check out is by 10:30am
Booking the Entire Centre
We can rent out the Centre for sole use, though there are other businesses on-site who, obviously, will continue to trade during your stay. These are mostly based away from the accommodation and camping area and will not affect your visit.
Booking Camping
Camping is only bookable by phone or email as we have limited pitches.
